Balloons Over Waikato 2024 – 25 years in the air

Join us and experience the enchantment of Hot Air Ballooning as balloons and skilled pilots from all across New Zealand and the world take flight in the magnificent Waikato Skies.

Whether you choose to gather at Innes Common to witness the mesmerizing ZURU Nightglow or prefer to step outside in your pajamas each morning to wave at the passing balloons, this event has something special for everyone.

Are you interested in booking a Flight during Balloons over Waikato?

Balloons over Waikato will take place from Tuesday, March 19, to Saturday, March 23, 2024.

The Kiwi Balloon Company is the exclusive commercial operator for this event, and Hamilton’s isite Visitor Centre handles all bookings.

Here’s some essential information:

• The Adult rate is $400.00 per person, while the Child rate (ages 7-12) is $320.00 per person. Children must be at least 7 years old and over 1.1 meters in height (holding your child in the basket is not allowed).
• The flight lasts approximately 30 minutes, but please allocate 4 hours for the entire experience due to possible weather delays.
• For safety and operational purposes, passengers must provide their accurate weight at the time of booking and will be weighed on the day of the flight.
• Passengers should check in at 6:45 am with the isite consultant at Innes Common, Hamilton Lake.
• Please note that the weather conditions, including minimal wind, no rain, and no fog, are decisive factors in determining whether the flight can proceed on the day.
• There is no guarantee that your flight will be alongside the other balloons, as the pilot may choose to relocate to a different area in Hamilton to ensure a safe flight.
• Flight bookings are non-refundable, but if the pilot cancels due to adverse weather conditions, the booking will be eligible for a refund.
• Availability is limited each day.
• Two weeks before your departure date, we will contact you with additional details regarding the check-in process.
• The use of drones is not permitted during this event.
• If you are booking from overseas, we will require a scanned copy of your driver’s license or passport photo.
