Witness a grand spectacle of big band jazz featuring an extraordinary ensemble of present and former students and associates of Hamilton Boys’ High School (HBHS).
The event boasts a 40-piece jazz orchestra supporting two exceptional singers from the Waikato, performing iconic hits by Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald. Enjoy a memorable evening with special guests Ash Puriri and Jessica Ruck-Nu’u as they deliver classics like New York, New York, My Way, The Lady Is A Tramp, Come Fly With Me, That’s Life, The Very Thought Of You, Paper Moon, I Only Have Eyes For You, and many more.
Conducted by Paul Norman from the University of Waikato, the jazz orchestra features alumni musicians such as Mike Booth (trumpet), Andrew Hall (sax), Nathan Koretz (sax), and others. The string section will include local luminaries Sharon Stephens, Victoria Trenwith, and Chris Nation.
This concert serves as a fundraiser for the Hamilton Boys’ High School US tour.
