Visitors at Freedom Camping get the opportunity to stay in the city at a low or no cost. Hamilton council has allocated various places across the city where the personal vehicle is permitted as well as it is self-contained.
The Parks, and Domains at Freedom Camping are all managed by the city council according to the Freedom Camping Act 2011.

Porritt Stadium:
Self-contained vehicles must be certified and are permitted to keep at their designated place.
There is a limit of five Permitted Self-contained vehicles are allowed to park only one time.
Drivers and owners of all those six self-contained vehicles are permitted to park only three times a month.
The time for parking is between 5 PM to 9 PM every day.
The Porritt Stadium Is available 365 days of the year for Freedom Camping.
The self-contained vehicles are not permitted to park on the same road for more than three days without the authority of the council.
Freedom camping is not restricted in Civic Square and Garden Place.
Freedom campers must ensure that:
- Their self-contained vehicle does not pose any health & safety risks.
- All wastes are disposed of at an authority dump station.
- Must not cause any nuisance to nearby residents.
