7 to 14 October 2026 🌸

Kia ora Hamilton 👋

Who else is loving these sunny spring days? ☀️ The evenings are getting longer, the blossoms are putting on a show, and heading outside after work feels a whole lot more inviting.

Whether it’s a walk, a family outing or simply sitting outside with a cuppa, we’re enjoying this brighter side of Hamilton. There are still some showers in the outlook, but those sunny breaks are too good to waste!

This week brings family entertainment, live music, theatre, an Italian film festival and a good excuse to visit a local bookshop. We’ve also got a long weekend coming later this month. Here’s your Hamilton week.

🌸 Jansen Park is looking beautiful

We visited Jansen Park on Monday 5 October, and there were still plenty of beautiful cherry blossoms to enjoy. Sunshine, hardly any wind and pink blossoms made it a lovely spot for a family outing and a few photos.

If you’ve been meaning to get your spring pictures, it’s worth visiting soon. Blossom conditions can change quickly, especially after wind and rain. Enjoy the flowers gently and leave the branches as you find them so everyone can enjoy the display.

Have you been down yet? Send us your favourite blossom photo or tell us which Hamilton street is looking its best. We love seeing the city through your eyes! 💗

☀️ More daylight, more time outside

Hamilton’s sunset moves from about 7:28pm on Wednesday 7 October to 7:34pm on Wednesday 14 October. With earlier sunrises too, we gain roughly 17 minutes of daylight across the week.

That means a little more time for an evening stroll, the playground or dinner outside. Who’s loving not having to finish the day in the dark? Hamilton sunrise and sunset times.
